Dr. Arun Majumdar
Jay Precourt Provostial Chair Professor at Stanford University
Dr. Arun Majumdar is the Jay Precourt Provostial Chair Professor at Stanford University and Senior Fellow and former Director of the Precourt Institute for Energy. He served in the Obama administration as the Founding Director of the Advanced Research Projects Agency – Energy (ARPA-E) and as the Acting Under Secretary of Energy. He served as a Science Envoy for the US Department of State and currently serves as the Chair of the US Secretary of Energy Advisory Board. Dr. Majumdar was also the Vice President for Energy at Google and advises numerous business in the energy innovation ecosystem. He is a member of the US National Academy of Sciences, US National Academy of Engineering and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He received his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay in 1985 and his Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley in 1989.
Jyoti Bansal
CEO, Harness
Jyoti Bansal is a multi-unicorn founder, serial technology entrepreneur and a passionate mentor and investor in the tech space. He is currently the founder and CEO of two high-growth technology companies: Harness, a platform to automate software delivery processes valued at $3.7 billion as of 2022, and Traceable AI — a cybersecurity platform for securing software applications.
Both of these companies reflect Jyoti’s passionate belief that software can change the world for the better and build on the success of his first company, AppDynamics, which was acquired by Cisco for $3.7 billion in 2017. Founded in 2008, AppDynamics is an application intelligence company that provides enterprises with real-time insights into application performance. Jyoti led the company as founder and CEO for the first eight years, and as founder & Chairman for the last year until its acquisition by Cisco.
In addition to running Harness and Traceable, Jyoti is highly involved in developing the next generation of technology companies through mentorship and investment. In 2017 he launched BIG Labs, a startup accelerator aimed at solving extraordinarily difficult technology problems, and in 2018 co-founded VC firm Unusual Ventures with John Vrionis. The firm currently has more than $600 million under management.
Dr. Anirudh Devgan
President and CEO of Cadence Design Systems, Inc
Dr. Anirudh Devgan is President and CEO of Cadence Design Systems, Inc., and is a member of the Board of Directors. Prior to becoming CEO in 2021, he was President of Cadence, before which he served as Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Digital & Signoff and System Verification groups. Prior to joining Cadence in 2012, Dr. Devgan was Corporate VP and member of the executive staff at Magma Design Automation, and earlier held management and technical roles at IBM.
Dr. Devgan is widely recognized as one of the leading authorities in electronic design automation (EDA), and successfully pioneered the application of massively parallel and distributed architectures to create several industry firsts and most impactful products in the areas of SPICE simulation, library characterization, place and route, static timing, power and electromagnetics, among several others. He also drove the first common compiler architecture for emulation and prototyping platforms.
Dr. Devgan is an IEEE Fellow, has written numerous research papers, and holds 27 US patents. He has won several awards, including the prestigious Phil Kaufman Award for his extensive contributions to EDA as well as the IBM Corporate Award and IEEE McCalla Award. Dr. Devgan serves on the boards of the Global Semiconductor Alliance and the Electronic System Design Alliance.
Dr. Devgan received a Bachelor of Technology degree in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, and MS and PhD degrees in electrical and computer engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.
